Just a few days before our departure from France, we were lucky enough to be able to attend the famous Dîner en Blanc, a flash-mob picnic with a white theme. A perfect way to cap of our Paris adventure!
Known as an exclusive event in Paris, we were lucky enough to snag some secret invites courtesy of our friends Ray of
DC Rainmaker and Bobbie of
Bertie's Cupcakery. The idea is that no one knows where this chic, white picnic will take place until the last minute. The day of the event, we were sent an email by our team leader with a meeting location for 8pm that night. Once at that location, our leader received a text with the final picnic location and led us to our assigned table spots.

This year the final location turned out to be in beautiful Palais Royal! While not as easy to tell you're part of a massive group of 10,000-13,000 people compared to other years, it was a very elegant and classy! The most impressive part is how awesome it looks with white everywhere!

As time consuming and sometimes annoying as it was to find white everything--dishes, table cloths, folding chairs, etc--it really added to the effect.

The evening passed very quickly, and after some wandering and photo snapping, chatting, and group sparklers at 11pm, it was quickly midnight and time to start cleaning everything up!

Carrying our tables, chairs, food, and even trash, the park was left spotless by 12:30am. Pretty impressive for such a massive event. Which I guess is why the city of Paris turns a blind eye to this unlicensed event every year!

A once in a lifetime experience with some wonderful friends! Even though there are Diner en Blanc events held throughout the world and the U.S., it was pretty special to able to attend the one where it all started in beautiful Paris! And check out
David's awesome video from the event! We also made the
press with our bazillion cameras! :)
