Tour de France

The Tour de France arrived in Paris for the final leg on Sunday, July 21st.  My friend, Katie, arrived that day, and we were lucky enough to be invited to a rooftop office of a friend on the Champs Elysees to view the last 10 laps up and down the road.  (Poor Nick was on a business trip and missed out on all the fun!)

It was a perfect night to be outdoors, and our view couldn't have been better.  We enjoyed good company, wine, and watching the bikers fly by each time.  The event started out with a fly over of the French colors, which they had also done on the 14th of July, but we only caught glimpses of that from our apartment window that day, so it was pretty awesome to be right under it this time!

At the end of the race there was a laser light show displayed on the Arc de Triomphe as part of the celebration of the 100th year of the Tour de France.  They also has the trophy ceremony underneath, and while we didn't get to see the ceremony, we had a pretty awesome view of the light show.

Such a fantastic opportunity, and I feel so lucky that I was able to experience it this way!  To see more Tour de France pictures, click here.
