Adventures in Morocco: Heyyyy Afrika-Sahara Edition

This is one of the things I was most looking forward to on this Morocco trip--a camel trek through the Saharan Desert dunes.  And what a great experience it was--an adventure with much more than we bargained for!

Adventures in Morocco: Marrakech

I never really knew much about Morocco until last year when multiple students in my bilingual class came back from holidays relaying stories of riding camels in the desert and visiting busy cities in Morocco.  I definitely had envy of 7 year olds, but this year, we finally got a chance to check it out for ourselves, with the fabulous company of our friends Skee and Michelle.
My first ever trip to Africa: we spent 5 1/2 days in this amazing and unique country, including a 3 day trek to the Sahara Desert.

Macaron Taste Test!

Macarons are one of my favorite treats in Paris, but also one of the most expensive, so I rarely venture out to try new shops.  So when I found out that I would have to do a 10 minute presentation in my French class on anything relating to France, I figured what better reason for a macaron taste test?!
The results were pretty unexpected and eye-opening!

Boulangerie Behind the Scenes!

People always ask me what my favorite part about living in Paris/France in, and while it's a difficult choice, I think I would have to say the ready access to yummy bread and treats!  Boulangeries (bakeries) abound on every street, and many of our lunches consist of a freshly baked baguette with some cheese and meat in the park.
So, when I had the chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on in a boulangerie with a tour through AWG, I jumped at the chance!

Winter Recap

I think it's safe to say spring is officially here (knock on wood), and as I look back on pictures from the last few months, I realize I should probably put in writing what else we've been up to around Paris over the past few months.

Goodbyes are Never Easy!

A few months ago (how is it already been that long?) we said goodbye to two of our dear friends here in Paris, Maygan and Kyle.  This is a bit of a delayed post for two reasons: one, blogging is much harder when the weather is nice and you're out and about doing things and two, I didn't really want to accept that these two really left!
