A few months ago (how is it already been that long?) we said goodbye to two of our dear friends here in Paris, Maygan and Kyle. This is a bit of a delayed post for two reasons: one, blogging is much harder when the weather is nice and you're out and about doing things and two, I didn't really want to accept that these two really left!
No one really prepares you for the emotions you feel as an ex-pat when friends starting moving away, either back home, or onto another assignment. Sadly, this is one of the downsides to ex-pat life, the friends you've bonded with quickly are always in different stages of their assignment than you, which means saying goodbye is inevitable.
We were lucky enough to go a whole year before having to say our first goodbyes, and it seems they will all be coming too soon. We have so many great memories with these two, from boot camps to Berlin, Paris isn't the same without them! Luckily, it's not really goodbye for Maygan and Kyle because they're back living in Houston, so we will be able to see them again when we move back! :)
The Kents threw a wonderful going-away party filled with laughter, tears, and of course late night dancing. A perfect way to say goodbye to a wonderful couple.
