US Winter Trip

Another Christmas, another wonderful trip back to the US. As always, it was busy but fun-filled. We are so thankful we could spend time with as many family and friends as we did, and of course, eat those foods we've been missing!

As usual, my picture taking while in the US was dismal, but we have a few to remember the great memories. When we landed in Minneapolis, we arrived to brown and green grass and no snow! Despite early snow in November, they were in a middle of a warm-up when we arrived. Thankfully, on the day before Christmas Eve, Marshfield, at least, got a snow storm and we were able to enjoy a white Christmas after all. We got a few more snow storms after Christmas, as well, so it was a beautiful time to enjoy the snow-capped trees and buildings.

Of course, Christmas celebrations were in order. I think we had about six different family Christmas celebrations this year, which kept us busy, but was great because we got to see so many family members, some of whom we hadn't seen in a while. When my aunt and cousins came up for a night, we played some team games, one of which was create a reindeer. Needless to say, our team won. :)

Lefsa making got a little crazy this year!

The rest of our time in Wisconsin was spent visiting with friends, and celebrating their new babies, pregnancies, and engagements (best news to hear when stepping off a plane after traveling 24 hours!). No pictures exist of these get-togethers because we were too busy laughing and catching up!

The last five days of our trip we spent in the Denver area, visiting friends who we met in Houston and have since moved back to Colorado. It was a great, chill way to end the trip. After enjoying a too fun New Year's Eve with all of Troy and Melissa's friends, we spent New Year's Day lounging, watching football, and of course, celebrating Nick's birthday with a little DQ cake.

The rest of the trip was very leisurely, exploring a different area of Denver each day. We've been to Denver and Colorado many times before, but this is the most time we've spent in the Denver area. We finally checked out Red Rocks, which is as beautiful as I imagined, and I can't wait to go to a concert there some day. Although we've been to Golden several times, it's always a fun place to go for a lunch or afternoon...so many yummy restaurants there. Although it was freezing the day we went downtown, we enjoyed the atmosphere and checked out a fun little brewery there while catching a football game.

We also did some normal things, like go shopping at the mall and run errands to Costco and Target. I have to say, doing errands while looking out the door to mountains, is pretty awesome and makes them just a little more fun.

Pretty lights of Littleton
All in all, a pretty wonderful trip back to the US, with more great memories made with wonderful family and friends. Until next time US...which will probably be when we move back. Oh boy!
P.S. If you haven't flown Delta in a while, you should, if just for their hysterical safety video.
I literally laughed out loud!
